Will Zoobles Be The Next Hit For SpinMaster

A new toy company has been making a splash lately and that is SpinMaster. They are the makers of Bakugan Battle Brawlers, the popular Liv Fashion Doll Collection, and TechDechs; the scourge of 5th grade teachers everywhere. The folks at SpinMaster thought they would take an already proven idea and refocus it for a younger crowd. Now they are going for the 4 and up market with Zoobles.

The Zoobles are cute little balls that open up when a magnet inside of them is activated. This is similar to the way that the Bakugan balls activate. The Bakugan balls are activated when they roll over a card that contains their power attributes. This card also contains a magnet which activates the ball to open. The Zoobles have a similar method for opening, but the secret metal strip is hidden in certain play areas and when the Zooble rests in that area, they open up to reveal the cute creature inside. Magnetic spheres that open when activated are the only similarity that Zoobles share with Bakugan, besides being collectibles, because Zoobles are cute little creatures whereas the Bakugan are creatures that have special powers that are used for Battle.

Will the Zoobles be the toy to have this Christmas shopping season? It is too soon to say, but they should at least be a contender. I'm sure the guys and gals at SpinMaster have a lot of tricks up their sleeve for the Christmas shopping season. The Fall line of Liv Dolls should make that apparent. Still everything depends on whether the kids like them and the parents follow suit with their shopping dollars.

The success of toys introduced by SpinMaster is compounded with the combination of digital media along with physical products. Besides the actual toys there is usually one media component that goes along with the toys. Bakugan is not only a collectible toy and a game, but it is also a hit video cartoon and video game. The Liv Dolls are not only an innovative line of fashion dolls that are supposed to emulate real girls, they also have their own online virtual world. There is a good chance that SpinMaster will produce a digital component for the Zoobles too. The Zoobles and Zooble Isle would make a great cartoon or video series.
